The chocolate was hot, but the Spartans were cold

A lot was on the line at Spartan Stadium in a Class 3A second round showdown between the Solon Spartans and Union Knights.  The Spartans were defending 3A champions and had three 2A championships leading up to last year.  Would this be the end of the Spartans unprecedented playoff run?

On a brisk Halloween night, one student brought his school spirit to the stadium in the form of a costume!

Popcorn Vitals:
  • $0.75 in a standard bag.
  • Popped fresh in the concession stand behind the home bleachers
Advice:
  • The salt content can vary from one popcorn bag to the next.
  • Visitor side concession stand operated by the athletic boosters generally has a larger selection, including grilled items.
  • Home side concession stand run by junior class has pizza, candy for the kids and plenty of cold soda.
Due to falling temps at game time, hot chocolate was a popular item.  It was hot, steamy and full of flavor.

The friendly service from junior class students, parents and staff was exceptional, too!

Game vitals:
  • Union 39 Solon 24.
  • Solon's quest for a fifth straight championship comes to an end.
